On the hunt for an air conditioner or heat pump? HVAC repair Orlando rebates can help you save hundreds on the unit and HVAC installation.

HVAC.com isn’t affiliated with any utility company. We just think the potential savings are worth mentioning. Learn how energy-efficient heating and cooling can pad your pocket in Orlando.

Orlando Utilities Commission rebates

The Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) offers a range of HVAC repair and replacement rebates. Each rebate has the same eligibility criteria:

  • You must be an OUC customer. OUC services the city of Orlando, St. Cloud, and segments of unincorporated Orange and Osceola counties.
  • You have until six months after the installation or repair to apply for HVAC repair Orlando rebate.

Duct repair rebate

The OUC incentivizes this often-overlooked HVAC repair with a $100 rebate. Ductwork repairs can boost your system’s energy efficiency by up to 30%.

Any OUC customer with a central heating system is eligible for the rebate. To claim the rebate, a professional technician must repair or replace the ductwork.

The ducts must be sealed with mastic, an organic glue derived from tree sap. When you file the rebate, ask your technician for an itemized receipt that lists the method of repair.

Ceiling insulation repair rebate

Upgrading the insulation in your attic keeps conditioned air from escaping through the ceiling. Reduced air loss makes your heating or cooling system more efficient and supports lower utility bills.

The OUC offers a rebate on ceiling insulation. Any homeowner whose current insulation has an R-value under 30 is eligible for the rebate. You can find the R-value printed on the batts, the fiberglass material, of your current insulation.

The rebate covers 10 cents per square foot of insulation. The new insulation must have an R-value of 30 or more, but any brand of fiberglass insulation is fair game.

This rebate offers a major perk for fans of DIY projects: professional HVAC installation is not required. You’re welcome to replace the insulation yourself. If you aren’t experienced with insulation, our network of top Orlando technicians can get the job done.

Heat pump / AC rebate

Heat pumps are a great option for year-round heating and cooling in Orlando. The system operates like an AC during the summer. While the heating mode isn’t powerful enough for freezing climates, it’s perfect for mild Floridian winters.

Any OUC customer is eligible for the rebate. To apply for the rebate, you must buy or lease a complete central heat pump system. This includes both the indoor (air handler) and outdoor (condenser) units.

Depending on the capacity and energy efficiency of the new heat pump, you could earn anywhere from $90 to $1,630 credit. The table below shows exactly how much you’ll earn back.
