The Aprilaire 600 Bypass Humidifier is a whole-home solution that helps homeowners reach their optimal indoor comfort through humidity control.

Designed to work in large to mid-sized homes, the Aprilaire 600 efficiently humidifies up to 4,000 sq feet and dispersing 17 gallons of water daily.

The Aprilaire Humidifier 600 bypass unit mounts directly to the duct of your heating and cooling system, allowing the humidity to be placed directly into the airflow and distributed evenly throughout the home. It can be mounted on the supply or return duct (plenum) and is also easily reversible for right or left hand installation. Additionally, the Aprilaire 600 will connect to a water line so you don’t need to worry about filling it multiple times a day.

In addition to reducing heating costs, the Aprilaire Humidifier 600 helps to prevent flu and allergy symptoms, while relieving dry skin and scratchy throat issues that are often caused by dry air. Think you may have pet allergies? The Aprilaire 600 reduces the pet dander in your space and soothes your discomfort. Plus, it can neutralize static electricity and protect your fine furniture, wood floors and musical instruments from the damaging effects of an indoor environment that lacks enough moisture.

The Aprilaire 600 bypass humidifier comes with an Aprilaire60 automatic humidistat with an outdoor sensor. The Aprilaire60 humidistat will mount directly to your heating and cooling system to accurately detect and deliver the appropriate amount of humidity to your home, while the outdoor sensor works to transmit the outdoor air temperature and humidity to the humidistat. The amount of humidity your humidistat predicts is based on a formula that factors in both the current temperature of the house and the temperature / humidity outside the home, accurately controlling the humidity of your home without any work or guessing for the homeowner. Sensing the outdoor temperature and the indoor humidity level, the automatic humidistat will call for the ideal amount of indoor humidification to ensure you and your family are as comfortable as possible.

The Aprilaire60 automatic humidistat is equipped with notification lights to quickly alert the homeowner if the system is in need of maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I install an Aprilaire 600 humidifier?

The installation of a new Aprilaire 600 should always be conducted by a licensed HVAC installer. Attempting to install a new Aprilaire Humidifier 600 unit without a professional contractor can be dangerous and can cause injury or noncompliant systems.

How does an Aprilaire 600 humidifier work?

The Aprilaire Humidifier 600 bypass system pumps water into the distribution tray at the top of the unit. Gravity causes the water to flow uniformly across the tray and through a specially designed outlet system. This causes dry, hot air from your HVAC system to evaporate. The humidified air then circulates throughout your space.

How do I set an Aprilaire 600 thermostat?

During the first heating season in your area, set the Aprilaire 600 controls to match your home’s condition. Turning the knob to “5” places it in the normal range. Depending on your preference, you may need to adjust the dial to allow for more or less humidity over the next 24-48 hours. Additionally, when the coldest part of the season falls, you may choose to make minor adjustments to suit your comfort level.
