The Aprilaire 800 humidifier is designed for use in mid- to large-size homes, humidifying spaces up to 6,200 sq. ft. and delivering up to 34.6 gallons of water each day. Your Aprilaire humidifier will automatically sense when your home needs more humidity. The humidistat, located on the return duct, will read the air coming in from your home. If the moisture level of this air is below the specified level set on your humidistat, it will tell the humidifier to turn on to give your home more humidity until it reaches its predetermined set point. Now, how does the humidifier work? When the humidistat tells your humidifier it needs more humidity, and your furnace blower is operating, water flows into the steam canister where it boils, creating steam.
